Man Shot After 'Altercation' Outside Reading Bar: Authorities

A 28-year-old is in "serious" condition after an argument at a Reading bar ended in gunfire Thursday night, Nov. 2, according to city police.

Officers were called to Penn and South 3rd streets around 11:45 p.m. for a shooting in progress, the department said. 

While en route to the scene, police learned that a man had checked into Reading Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. 

Investigators believe there was an "altercation" inside DeCarlo's Bar and Grill, and that the shooting happened outside after the "involved parties" were kicked out. 

No suspect had been identified as of midday Friday, Nov. 3.
